The Rodings, Easters &
Great Canfield Churches
Supporting our Church
Thank you for your generosity, your giving matters
now more than ever.
Thank you for looking at this page to find out about supporting our churches.
The churches of the Rodings, Easters and Great Canfield, like all parishes in the Church of England must finance themselves, there is no central support. This includes maintaining and improving our 10 historic church buildings and churchyards and paying the Diocese the Parish Share to cover our share of clergy and the wider church establishment. Our total running costs are in excess of £100k per annum before any major building maintenance.

We are very grateful to the faithful church community who give regularly as well as the communities and visitors who support our fundraising events; all of this generosity together with the time and talents of a large number of volunteers, enables us to continue to provide a Christian presence in each of our villages.
If you can consider helping us to maintain your village churches and the ministry that happens here, and make improvements to the buildings, we would be most grateful.
Supporting us financially
There is a collection plate available at Sunday services for cash donations and gift aid envelopes. Please note it is not necessary to use a gift aid envelope unless your gift is over £30, the churches are able to claim gift aid on all donations less than £30 given in church.
For churches that are open during the day, you will find a ‘giving box’ for visitors to donate.
Regular monthly standing order – This is the most efficient form of giving and allows us to budget and plan. Please contact us for the church bank details. When you do please confirm which church you wish to donate to, or alternatively it is possible to donate to the 10 churches as a group.
By bank transfer – One-off donations are also most welcome. Many of our churches will be working on projects to improve facilities or carry out major repairs, donations can be restricted to a specific project.
By cheque – Made payable to village name Parochial Church Council. Please get in touch via the contacts page and we will confirm where cheques are to be sent.
Some churches have the facility to accept electronic giving in church, High Easter, Good Easter, Aythorpe Roding, High Roding, Leaden Roding and White Roding. Please speak to the churchwardens who will be able to help.
Join a Give As You Earn Scheme - many employers offer such schemes which are a tax efficient way of giving, as donations are taken from your salary before tax. Some employers even match your giving!
Wills and Legacies - Have you considered leaving a proportion of your estate as a gift in your will to our parish? Please see this link which explains our legacy policy
Whatever you can give, however large or small, will be greatly appreciated. If you are a UK tax payer, the church will benefit greatly if you Gift Aid your donation. It gives us an extra 25p for each £1 you donate at no extra cost to yourself. Please contact us for a gift aid form.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:7-8

It’s not just about money!
We are always eager to involve people in other ways, volunteering to help us in services and in church life. This includes help with maintenance, cleaning, flower arranging, gardening; as well as church duties – reading, leading prayers, welcoming …..
You can support our churches by your presence at our services, and by your prayers, whether at home or in church or with others.
Thank you.
